Dr Samuel Mudd (Warner Baxter) is arrested for being an accomplice to the assassination of President

Lincoln (Frank McGlynn Sr) when he unknowingly aids an injured John Wilkes Booth (Francis McDonald). Mudd is sentenced to life at a remote prison, but when yellow fever breaks out, taking the prison’s doctor down with it, Mudd’s medical background becomes invaluable.
