MRS HARRIS GOES TO PARIS
This light, lacquered confection is adapted from Paul Gallico’s 1958 novel about Ada Harris, a kindly London cleaning lady who’s bedazzled by the vision of a Christian Dior gown, and saves every penny to fly over to Paris and snag one.
Lesley Manville shines brightly as Harris, and the always spry Jason Isaacs helps the cause as a chummy Irish bookie. Isabelle Huppert, meanwhile, as Dior’s front-of-house manager, is the wicked stepmother of this frothy Cinderella tale. PG cert, 116 min
