Released at the peak of Matthew McConaughey’s short-lived love affair with romcoms, Failure to Launch focuses on 35-year-old womaniser Tripp (McConaughey) who still lives with his parents because he can’t face growing up; that is, until his parents grow tired of his immaturity and hire Paula (Sarah Jessica Parker), an expert in persuading adult children to move out. Surprise, surprise, Paula and Tripp quickly fall in love.
