Matt Reeves’s sprawling urban detective thriller is a triumph, featuring Robert Pattinson as billionaire vigilante Bruce Wayne. While Pattinson’s dark and brooding Batman is its own success story, he particularly comes alive when on screen with Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz). But it’s Paul Dano’s terrifying Riddler who steals the show – a Zodiac-incel hybrid, he may just go down as one of the all-time great Batman villains of the silver screen.
