In this enjoyably catty look at the odd world of fashion journalism, Meryl Streep relishes a break from being cast as a misery-guts, and plays the perfectionist editor of Runway (a thinly veiled Vogue). Emily Blunt delivers a magnificent turn as her uptight assistant, coming apart at the seams; it’s a shame that Anne Hathaway, alone among them, is sappy, playing the junior who beats Streep at her own game.
