CAROLS AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL, LONDON

The audience dons Santa hats and sings along at these popular carol concerts. This year the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is joined by the Royal Choral Society, the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and the British Imperial Military Band. The soloist taking to the stage is Vanessa Haynes and the concert will be presented by Greg Beardsell.

FESTIVE MUSIC, YORK MINSTER

Tickets are still available for the Choir of York Minster’s carol concerts (Dec 8 and 9), a screening of The Snowman accompanied by a live orchestra (Dec 10) and for Carols by Candlelight (Dec 17). Don’t miss the 40 decorated Christmas trees in the Chapter House and Lady Chapel.

CAROLS AT BOLSOVER CASTLE, DERBYSHIRE

Standing beneath the wooden beams of the stunning brick-built Riding School, the Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir sings carols for one night only. Audience participation is highly encouraged, so expect a rousing evening. Father Christmas is accepting visits from children at the castle, though these take place during the day (see left).
