How do I choose the right motorhome for me?

To get a good idea of what you need for your family, and whether it is going to be something you enjoy, you can rent a variety of vans in Europe – from smaller

Marco Polo campervans, from £20 per night (sleeping four people), to larger Winnebago-style RVs such as the Atlas-5 from £42 per night (sleeping five people). Will I be able to go off-grid?

When shopping for a luxury motorhome, one of the main things you should consider is how long you can last without charging your leisure batteries, topping up water or filling up your petrol. These factors should be balanced against the luxuries and mod-cons you need, which may range from household (240v) electricity to air conditioning and underfloor heating. Many motorhomes will come supplied with solar panels, generators, inverters and more to keep you on the road, with minimal external services needed

What if I want to go on smaller roads?

If your aim is to cruise around on country lanes, an enormous vehicle might not be for you. Smaller versions can still be surprisingly luxurious. Campervans are also now available as fully electric models, which is another consideration

Where can I store my vehicle when it’s not in use?

Those who don’t have land can store their vehicle off-road at a storage facility. Caravan Club (caravanclub. co.uk) offers secure sites for touring vehicles from £390 per year, or £40 for a week
