FLOAT TO OUTER SPACE IN A BALLOON

Braggability 10

Virgin Galactic flights are so 2020 – now, it is all about the space balloon. Spaceship Neptune transports “space explorers” to the edge of outer space using a giant hydrogen balloon. Once there, they will board a climatecontrolled, pressurised capsule that is lifted by the balloon to a height of 100,000ft, where they will have panoramic 360-degree views of

Earth. The balloon then detaches, and the capsule slowly descends back to Earth, where it is collected by a special ship.

During the six-hour flight, budding astronauts can sip on cocktails in the Space Lounge and listen to tales from the pilot. There is even Wi-Fi, so they can livestream their experience. Best of all? It may be very expensive, but it’s only about a quarter of the price of a Virgin Galactic flight.

How to do it Spaceship Neptune flights cost £103,000 per person with Space Perspective (spaceperspective.com). Reserve a flight for 2024 by putting down a deposit of £840 per person
