No migrants deported to France in returns policy
No Channel migrants have been deported to France since the Government introduced its post-brexit returns policy, despite 70,000 having crossed to the UK, according to the Home Office figures.
In the 21 months since rules were introduced allowing the UK to deport any migrant who has travelled through a safe country such as France, only 83 asylum seekers have been served with papers saying their claims were “inadmissible”.
Of these, 21 have been removed to Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland but none to France.
