A PRIVATE investigator hired to protect Harry Styles from an obsessive fan was subsequently harassed by the stalker herself, a court has heard.

Kimberly Tarazaga-orero, 29, bombarded Michelle Roycroft, 52, a former police officer, with more than 100 abusive and threatening messages via Instagram after Ms Roycroft was hired by Mr Styles, the film star and singer, as a security measure.

Tarazaga-orero, who identifies as a trans woman and was previously known as Diana, sent some of the messages before trespassing into Styles’s north London home in February this year. The former One Direction singer was upstairs when the stalker burst in.

Tarazaga-orero was detained in hospital under the Mental Health Act for breaching a restraining order at Wood Green Crown Court in September. She sent over 100 abusive and threatening messages via Instagram to Ms Roycroft in February 2022.

Tarazaga-orero, from Spain, consented to a stalking protection order being made at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court. The court heard how Tarazaga-orero first came into contact with Ms Roycroft after she was hired by Styles to “assist him in managing the risk he believed the respondent posed to him”.

Rosa Bennathan, for the Met Police, said: “The respondent demonstrated stalking behaviour initially towards Mr Styles, over a period of four or five months after Styles had spoken to the respondent.” The court heard how Tarazaga-orero would ring the bell at Styles’ house, watch him as he came and went, and tried to grab him on two occasions.

Ms Bennathan described Ms Roycroft as an expert on stalking protection who testified in court proceedings regarding Styles.

“On 21 May 2021, four emails were sent to the complainant’s work address. They were aggressive emails expressing anger and resentment towards the complainant,” Ms Bennathan said.

Ms Roycroft replied telling Tarazagaorero not to contact her again, and initially the stalker sent no further emails. Ms Roycroft decided against pursuing proceedings against the fan as she was concerned for her mental health.

But in February this year, Tarazagaorero turned up at Styles’s home, assaulted a woman by pushing her over a wall, climbed over the wall and shouted to Styles, describing him as her “everything”.

When Ms Roycroft checked her Instagram in March, she found messages from Tarazaga-orero that she had not seen at the time of the incident, with one set of messages sent on Feb 11 and another on Feb 16.

The court heard that the messages involved graphic death threats and included the address of Ms Roycroft’s office, alongside a threat to attack and kill her there. This had a “profound” effect on Ms Roycroft, the court heard.

In an impact statement read to court, Ms Roycroft said: “The fact she said was going to come there and kill me was terrifying.

“I reported it immediately to the police. Despite decades in the police, this was very scary. I have had two panic attacks as a result.

“It left me unable to work as I can’t stop thinking about the threat. I truly believe that [she] sees me as the only barrier for her relationship with Harry and that by killing me she will be able to be with Harry.

“Because of her obsession with Harry I believe she is capable of carrying out these violent acts.”

Three years ago, Styles had told a court how being stalked by Tarazagaorero had left him “scared” and needing to upgrade his security. He offered the fan, then known as Pablo Tarazagaorero, who was homeless at the time, money to stay in a hotel after spotting him sleeping at a bus stop.

The musician subsequently saw Tarazaga-orero outside his home every day, even after she was cautioned by police.

The court heard that Tarazaga-orero was currently in a mental health facility but her security was being de-escalated with a view to discharging her back into the community.
