World class

A craftsman works on a World Cup at Stabilimento Artistico Bertoni in Milan. The trophy has been produced here for 50 years. Made of 18 karat gold with bands of malachite on its base, it stands 36.8cm high and weighs 6.1kg. The original remains in Fifa’s possession, while the winning National Association receives one of these gold-plated replicas.
