This property is going for a song, croons estate agent

By Daily Telegraph Reporter

A SINGING estate agent has captured national attention with a music video advertisement for a £700,000 home she is selling.

Claire Cossey, who has become known as Britain’s “singing estate agent” for her unusual method of marketing homes, posted a video of her touring a large house with 14 rooms, while detailing its features in a melodic ditty.

In the video, the former nightclub singer is seen surveying the “Neverending Property”, a five-bedroom home in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, to the backdrop of Limahl’s 1984 hit.

The song was featured in The Neverending Story, a 1980s family fantasy film, as well as in Stranger Things on Netflix. The video was shared on Twitter, where it has amassed more than 6,000 likes and retweets, and has since been reported in the national press.

Ms Cossey and her business partner Tony Bailey started Just Knock estate agents in 2020, when the professional singer of 24 years came up with the idea of creating videos to help market their properties. Ms Cossey, 43, of Leighton Buzzard, said that she had been making the videos for several years and the “first one went quite viral locally”, and helped to promote the property.

She said: “At the end of the day it’s just a different marketing tool.

“I’m not saying to people it’s going to help sell a house, it’s just that obviously it’s something very very different.

“It probably wouldn’t come as a surprise to say that I’m actually a professional singer by trade.

“I’ve been singing for 24 years and have toured all over the world ... I just had this really stupid idea to start singing about a property.”
