Feeling the chill

Valentine’s Day brought the UK’s coldest temperature in four years as snow and icy weather swept large parts of the country. It was 6.8F (-14.1C) in Braemar, Aberdeenshire, while, above, horses and their riders on Monday morning braved overnight snowfall on the gallops at Middleham Moor in the Yorkshire Dales.
