The bijou, bohemian boutique hotel group’s Oxon outpost is 10 miles west of the dreaming spires, on the edge of the Cotswolds. There are five rustic-chic rooms under the thatched roof of the 16th-century inn, plus three suites in outbuildings and a shepherd’s hut for off-gridders. Borrow bikes to explore and refuel with posh pub grub – we recommend a half-pint of prawns with saffron aioli.
